LEAF COLLECTION 2023

As of 12/06/2023 we are finishing up our current location of 8th Avenue to Maple Avenue from N. Fruitridge Avenue to 1st Avenue. Beginning 12/11/2023, the City of Terre Haute will be in the North Leaf Zone of Terre Haute. This includes everyone from Maple Avenue to Haythorne Avenue from N Canal Rd to N. Fruitridge Avenue. After this zone is complete we will start back in South Terre Haute starting at Wabash Avenue and do a final pickup. Please have any leaves that you would like the city to pick up out by the road by 12/11/2023 so we can get them on our final pickup. You can follow our live progress by following the link below.

*NEW FOR 2023 LEAF SEASON*

Terre Haute has now released a Data Hub to the public. Click on the link below and scroll down to Terre Haute Street Department Trackers and click on the "Leaf Vac Tracker HUB". You can use this map to see the location and trail of where we have passed through and picked up leaves within the last two weeks.

 https://datahub.terrehaute.in.gov/

An updated leaf pickup schedule will be announced each week through the media. You may also find the regularly updated schedule on our website at www.terrehaute.in.gov and on our “The City of Terre Haute” Facebook page. The leaf pick up schedule is weather dependent and therefore subject to change

Important notes:

 * Some crews may periodically work in other areas of the city (not on the weekly schedule) that have large accumulations of leaves in order to keep storm drains open. If you see our crews working outside the “scheduled” area please do not be concerned if you do not have your leaves ready. They will be back during the officially scheduled week.

* Once we have completed the initial pickup throughout the entire city we will make a second pass through areas with significant remaining leaves.

  * Please have your leaves raked neatly into a pile in the tree row (or city right-of-way), and NOT into the street. Our crews will come through and blow them into the street prior to pick up. This prevents storm sewers from becoming plugged which causes streets to flood.

  *  Republic will haul away up to ten (10) bags of leaves per week.

LIMB PICKUP

The City is responsible for and will pick up limbs and debris caused by storm damage to trees in a City tree row. We will not pick up limbs, trees, debris or trimmings from a homeowner's yard. Disposal of material cut from a homeowner's yard is the responsibility of the homeowner.
