Reports To: City Engineer
FLSA: Exempt
Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
- Coordination of various community planning efforts
- Assist with grant writing, coordinating and lobbying efforts for planning and infrastructure related projects
- Coordinate City’s efforts with Area Planning Department and Board of Zoning Appeals
- Manage zoning and land use related activities
- Coordinate with dissemination of information relating to public works projects
- Development of and support to neighborhood associations
- Coordinate with the Sustainability Commission
- Oversee Brownfield redevelopment activities
- Maintain the Trails and Parks Masterplan
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Able to work independently and with little direct supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work well with others
- Ability to implement new projects and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in planning or a related field
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in public sector planning preferred
Working Conditions: Mostly office setting with some field investigation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
