Department: Parks
Reports To: Director and Asst. Director of Recreation
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
- Arrive at the Torner Center in accordance with established hours of operation
- Greet and assist the public
- Train seasonal concessions staff on register/deposits (Torner)
- Submit all reports in accordance with established procedures
- Schedule and take payment for Field/Pool/Train/Hay Wagon rentals
- Prepare daily bank deposits and start up monies
- Supervise and assist class instructors for the Recreation Department when needed
- Maintain purchase order log
- Work some after-hour events and programs
- Register patrons for Recreation program(s)
- Follow all park rules (speed limit, etc.)
- Keeps service records for all seasonal staff
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to run office efficiently and effectively
- Administrative assistant experience
- Working ability to prioritize assignments
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Organizational skills
- Ability to solve problems
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience and knowledge in website design
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred
Working Conditions: Office setting
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including extreme heat and cold
- Ability to see within normal parameters
- Ability to hear within normal range
- Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s)
- Ability to read & write
- Ability to push, pull, carry and lift a minimum of 25 pounds
